Pathway Horizon - support program

With trajectory Horizon, VIVEL launched a support program for care councils as a compass for reform in November 2023 "impactful care councils". This program is a response to the upcoming changes within the care councils, an essential step in the evolution of the development of care councils and broader, quality integrated care and support in an ever-changing environment.

In the first phase (December-March 2024), we launched a webinar in which care councils, VAPH and Growing Up joined forces; signposting VAPH and Growing Up in our VIVEL Academy, Information sheets on intersectoral meeting. On February 22nd, we also organized a study day to familiarize the care councils with the functioning of the local boards. Finally, we provided information and templates around the mandatory Complaint Procedure and Director's Compensation and ensured that all care councils had access to a good governance consultationin function of the reforms.

On the agenda: networking competencies

By April 2026, care councils must submit an environmental analysis and new policy plan to the Department of Care. With an environment analysis and policy plan that is supported and discussed with the network of care councils, care councils develop a workable and targeted pathway in the primary care zone. Therefore, in the coming quarter (April - June), VIVEL launches a trajectory around the further growth of network competent care councils, increasing competencies around stakeholder management, working on dealing with resistance in relationships, and how to better involve your network. This trajectory will be guided by a partnership of Hefboom, Arteveldehogeschool and WhoCares!
